Before working as a freelance mixing engineer, I owned and ran 6dB Studios, where I first began working closely with artists on their recordings from the ground up. That hands-on, artist-first approach hasn't changed. I still work regularly with up & coming artists from Yorkshire and the surrounding area, alongside artists further afield, helping them hone their sonic identity and further develop their sound.
That work has led to some real highlights along the way, including multiple weeks as Track of the Week on BBC Introducing for Violet Contours, over 1.7 million streams on The Magpie's - "Tidings", and 9/10 in Classic Rock magazine with This House We Built, to mention a few. Records I have produced & mixed have also picked up radio play across BBC Radio 1, Radio 2, 6 Music, Amazing Radio, Kerrang Radio, and more.
Whether you're just starting to sculpt a song/songs or you've already got recordings in hand, I can help at whatever stage your project is at. That includes pre-production support such as working on parts and arrangements before you head into the studio, engineering and production to capture the best foundation for your record at source, guidance on finding the right studio for your project, drawing on relationships with rooms including Beckview Studios, The Motor Museum, and The Chairworks, among others. Once tracked, I offer mixing to bring everything together, I also work closely with Sam Proctor at Lismore Mastering for the final polish before release.
